rustic theater: acoustical ceiling
A detail photograph of the fabric covered "acoustical ceiling" we created for this room. We built 11 wooden frames and stretched fabric across them to hide the sound absorbing material we placed directly on the drywalled ceiling. Special care was taken with the sprinkler system, we had it drained and the sprinkler heads extended to reach the level of our new fabric paneled ceiling. Time consuming but worth it as we were able to drastically improve the sound quality of the room and the movie viewing experience while adding a richness to the space with the new ceiling detail and trim package.
